Returning to the Building

Here are some answer to questions you may have from the Return to the Building Taskforce:

How will we know when it is safe to return to the building?
The Return to the Building Taskforce is working with church leadership to utilize recommendations of medical and science professionals as well as trends in our area to make an informed decision about our safe return.

When will we return to the building for worship?
While a date has not yet been set, we anticipate returning no sooner than September.  We are working hard to plan and make sure all the necessary precautions and practices are in place first to keep people safe when we return to worship.

Should I wear a face covering?
Yes.  We ask that everyone over the age of 3 entering the church building – either for worship or meetings, wear a face covering.

How will we maintain social distancing during worship services?
As we continue to exercise caution due to COVID-19, we will restrict maximum capacity in the sanctuary to 50 people.  We are currently working on a process that will include procedures for entering and exiting the building, seating procedures as well as keeping physically distant from one another.

Will there still be an online worship option if we do not feel comfortable returning to the church building?
Absolutely!  We know that while we love being together, it will not yet be safe for some to return and that online worship has given people the opportunity to connect even when ill or traveling.  We believe online worship will always be an option in our life together moving forward.

Let’s Worship Together on Zoom

One of the parts of worship many of us miss terribly is seeing each other and feeling like we are worshipping in community. Beginning Sunday, June 7 we are going to try something new and use Zoom to worship together.

Worship will continue to be recorded ahead of time and for those who prefer watching on their own or at a different time, it will continue to be available at YouTube as it has every week.

But, if you want to worship with FCC friends, you are invited to sign in to Zoom beginning at 9:45am. We will greet one another and then do a screen share which will allow us to watch worship together. At the end of worship we will again “gather” as a group for a few minutes of greeting followed by a time when people can continue conversation in smaller groups through Zoom’s break out rooms. We are excited to try using Zoom in this way and hope you will join us. To join, contact us to get the Zoom link and password.

Two other things to note: Zoom has an update that is required. Now that it is June, if you haven’t already updated, you will be required to. Also, Zoom has a lot of traffic on Sunday mornings with an occasional technical issue. Should we experience any technical issues, remember, the worship service is available at YouTube.

ONLINE Vacation Bible School, June 2020

VBS 2020

Join us in June as we look at these two important words, "Follow me," through the Bible stories; Jesus Calls the Disciples, Feeding of the 5000, the Woman at the Well, and Paul's Peace Letter!

Each week for 4 weeks (beginning June 8):  Mondays, weekly supply kits will be available for pick up/drop off; and on Tuesdays, a weekly Bible story, music and snack idea will be available on YouTube to be viewed as you like. In addition, there will be opportunities for kids to engage in a craft and science activity via Zoom each week.  Supply kits will contain instructions for all activities in case you are not able to attend the Zoom meetings, or need to engage on a different timeline.

This will be super simple for adults but still fun for kids! Designed with kids age 4 through 11 in mind, but all are welcome to take part!
